Paddington First - Looking for a job

Paddington First, the recruitment centre for the Paddington area was established in 1998 by Paddington Waterside Partnership and has now secured employment for over 4,500 people - about one person a day into work. The Centre has moved to 143-145 Harrow Road. The new larger premises a short walk away offers improved facilities for jobseekers and employers.

The recruitment service was originally set up to capture the construction vacancies brought about by the development at Paddington Waterside but has expanded to work with hospitality and catering, retail, construction, security, healthcare, office work, education and childcare, financial services, property and travel.

The team helps people find work, they explain the recruitment process, give help and advice with job search, CV and applications and interview support. It also works with local colleges and a range of training providers.

For employers Paddington First provides a made to measure service; from assistance with job specification, screening and matching, to checks on work history.

The centre is supported by City Of Westminster, Jobcentre Plus, City of Westminster College, London Development Agency, Paddington Development Corporation, Paddington Development Trust and Paddington Waterside Partnership.
